However, effective July 1, 2026, the chapter has officially closed due to insufficient financial resources to sustain operations and scale our work as a chapter. This has resulted in significant physical and financial exhaustion and burnout of active chapter members. Therefore, the email is no longer being monitored, our Google Voice phone number (404-860-2837) and social media pages have been deactivated and our website domain is scheduled for deactivation (8/21/26). Therefore, we ask that you remove us from your email listservs to avoid any confusion in attempting to communicate with a chapter that is no longer active.

We are proud of the work our small team has accomplished in bringing awareness to the harmful, ever-present and continued use of slavery in Georgia via Georgia law that legalizes it, lock up quotas and mass incarceration. We are deeply grateful to our community, partners and supporters for standing with us since 2022 and while this chapter is ending, the #endslaveryinGA campaign will continue through the work of our partners at NewLife-Second Chance Outreach, Inc . and we remain hopeful for the continued advancement of this work in other forms, spaces and community collaborations.

Below are photos of slavery in or near your city! Using and exploiting the FREE labor of incarcerated Georgians hurts the community. Working incarcerated people is no longer "punishment" or "rehabilitation" but PROFIT! While local and state governments and corporations make BILLIONS of dollars by "selling" the free labor of incarcerated laborers to the highest bidder while paying incarcerated people ZERO, the jobs that incarcerated people perform, could be jobs that you and your loved ones could have and be getting paid for. Also, these same jobs that they work for free, deny them employment once they are released, causing them to struggle and depend on public assistance! This hurts the community and the economy so why aren't you mad that your governement would rather work a slave than pay YOU a liveable wage to take care of your family!
